“iida 2010” Application Schedule
May 1st, 2010(Sat) ~ Aug 25th, 2010(Wed)
 
The period of application for “iida 2010” is open for 117 days.
From the 1st of May(Sat) to the 25th of August(Wed) 2010, we await active participation of world designers.
 
The registration on-line for the design entry at “iida 2010” is done through the world famous design portal site
based in Milano, Italy, called designboom.com.(http://www.designboom.com/iida_2010.html)
The final registration time is open until 17:00 (GMT: Greenwich Mean Time) of the 25th of August 2010(Wed).

The results of “iida 2010” would be announced in September 2010 on the homepages of iida, designboom and designflux.
(www.iida,kr, www.designboom.com, www.designflux.co.kr)
The exact date will be notified on the homepages.

“iida 2010” plans to publish a catalogue with the winner designs and these works will also be shown to the public
in a gallery form on iida.kr, designboom.com, designflux.co.kr.

The iida 2010 Awards Ceremony and Opening of the Exhibition will be held on the 18th of November 2010,
at the Songdo Convensia, Incheon Metropolitan City, Korea.
The winners will exhibit their works from the 18th to the 21st of November at the venue of Incheon International Design Fair,
a worldly festival of design which takes place at Songdo Convensia.

The winners are invited to the 2010 Incheon International Design Fair and to participate in the Awards Ceremony.
They will have opportunities to present their award winning works to the companies based in Incheon and socialize
with them for two days during the event period.

Among the winner designs, if a 3-D model would be effective for the exhibition, the host and organizer have rights
to fabricate a mock-up of the design and exhibit it.

The applicant is entitled to the intellectual property of the entry design at“iida 2010” and the host
and organizer have the rights to publish and use the image contents and catalogue of the submitted works.
Incheon Metropolitan City will possesses the right to use the copyright of the winning designs until 31 December 2010
and Korean companies will be provided a priority to negotiate the conditions of copyright.

 
“iida 2010” has the vision of Incheon as an environment-friendly city of the future.
We expect diverse flourishing imagination of designers from
all over the world under the theme of ‘green heart.’
 
 
How to participate in “iida 2010”
 
For registration and entry for “iida 2010”, please follow the instructions on-line via designboom.
(http://www.designboom.com/iida_2010.html)

The image of design should be in the size of 600×800 pixel/72dpi(RGB)
and in GIF or JPEG and each image file should be maximum 150 KB.
Up to three images are allowed per entry.

For video work, the size should be 640 x 480, maximum 10MB, in FLV or SWF format.
It should be created as a video/flash file which is either supported by Windows Media Player ver.9.0 /QuickTime Player
or playable automatically.

The brief description of the submitted work(s) should be written in maximum 500 words.
It should be in English, Arabic numerals and measures in meters.
Please note that it is imperative to attach a description at the time of submission of work.

The submitted work should not have any indicative marks regarding the applicant(name, etc).

The entry registered can be corrected and re-uploaded until the closing time.

The last application and submission of work are allowed until 17:00(GMT:Greenwich Mean Time) on the closing day,
limited to the submission having started uploading before the aforementioned time.
The host and organizer are not responsible for a possible bad connection which results in failure of uploading the file.

We advise you to register your design at the Copyright Office to protect the design during the “iida 2010” event period.

High-resolution version(594×841㎜/200dpi/CMYK) of the registered original image(s) will be requested to
winners of the competition for the exhibition and publishing the catalogue.
Additionally, the description of work in txt, doc, pdf and a photo of the applicant in the size of 30×40㎜/200dpi should be submitted.
All the submitted image files should be in jpg, gif, psd, ai, eps, pdf or zip file of one of these formats.

For the winning designs, if a 3-D model would be effective for the exhibition,
the executive office has rights to fabricate a mock-up of the design and if necessary,
specifications could be requested on the winner to ease the fabrication.

 
 
“iida 2010” Limitations
 
Design that fails under any of the following descriptions may not be submitted to iida 2010.
If an award winning design is discovered post-factum to be one of the followings,
the award will be cancelled and the prize money withdrawn. Designs that are:
 
- already presented publicly in Korea or abroad
- known to have plagiarized other works
- judged as being harmful to public order or social morality
- not in conformity with the requirements of application mentioned in this guideline
- judged as infringing the intellectual property right of other(s).

 
An applicant can submit maximum two works for each category and if the applicant is a co-working team, the number of members should be limited to maximum four people.
If two works are submitted separately despite the same form or title, they will be assumed to be one sole work.
